Afternoon tea comes with a free cocktail at Fistral Beach Hotel
For one week this August, the afternoon tea at Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa in Newquay comes with something extra on the side. Every guest who books gets a cocktail, and nobody is paying for it. The adults-only hotel is marking Afternoon Tea Week by putting a Fistral T’Clock in the hand of every afternoon tea guest, a drink that normally costs £14 a head.

One week, one free cocktail
The offer runs from 10 to 16 August 2026. Book the Afternoon Tea in that window and the cocktail is on the house, served in the Bay Bar looking out over the sands of Fistral Beach.
The hotel calls the pairing its Tipsy Afternoon Tea, and the setting does a lot of the work. Bay Bar sits above the beach with an uninterrupted view of the Atlantic, which turns a tea and a drink into a slow afternoon by the water.
What’s on the stand
The sweet side of the tea runs to hazelnut tiffin, strawberry tart and peach Melba macarons, plus warm plain scones with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam.
On the savoury side there are sausage rolls and a run of sandwiches: ham and mustard, smoked salmon with crème fraîche, and cucumber with citrus mayo.
The Fistral T’Clock
The cocktail itself is the hotel’s signature serve, a mix of Hendrick’s Gin, strawberry, orgeat and cucumber. It is built to sit alongside the tea rather than compete with it, cool and light against the scones and the clotted cream.
