Two men die in B3288 crash near Truro as police appeal for witnesses

Two men have died after a collision on the B3288 near Truro on Monday night. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, and police have now asked anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

What happened

Officers were called at around 10.50pm on Monday 20 July to reports of a collision involving a black Citroen Dispatch van and a red Yamaha R1 motorcycle. It happened at the junction of the B3288 and an unnamed road between Zelah and Shortlanesend.

Both the motorcycle rider and the van driver sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. Both were men in their 40s. The motorcycle rider was from the Penzance area and the van driver was from East Yorkshire.

The road was closed while officers worked at the scene, and the Roads Policing Team has thanked the public for their patience during the closure.

Police appeal for information

An investigation is under way to establish the cause of the collision.
