Cornwall claims 14 of the UK’s Outstanding Family Campsites for 2026

If you have got outdoor plans for Cornwall this weekend, front-load them. Saturday is the pick of the next few days, with the sun out early and temperatures climbing toward the high twenties before the weather turns overnight. Nearly a tenth of the whole UK list

Fourteen out of 150 means Cornwall accounts for close to one in every ten sites the panel picked across the entire country. The list is a hand-picked shortlist rather than a popularity contest, judged on quality of facilities, location, value for money, cleanliness, customer service ratings, and overall guest satisfaction, with a final steer from the site’s editorial panel. For families weighing up where to spend the summer break, it is a useful shortcut past the guesswork.

Wooda Farm Holiday Park leads the local names

Among the Cornish sites named is Wooda Farm Holiday Park near Bude, a family-run park going since 1975 and singled out for an action-packed holiday with something for all ages. Children can meet friendly farm animals, take tractor rides, and work their way through the adventure playground, the pitch-and-putt golf course, and the tennis courts. The park also runs a rolling programme of family activities, from pottery painting, football, and archery to arts and crafts, cheerleading, and the odd magical disco.

Parents are not left out. There is a wellness and beauty salon, a cocktail bar, live music and entertainment, an onsite coffee bar and kitchen for family meals, and a farm shop stocked with essentials, gifts, and toys. Dogs get their own exercise field, walking area, and dog wash. Add family shower rooms with baby changing, a TV and games room, a gym, cycling and nature trails, and beaches five minutes down the road at Crooklets and Bude, and it adds up to a low-stress summer base. Guests seem to agree. The site holds a 4.8-star rating across 151 reviews, with 98% saying they would recommend it, and recent write-ups describe it as a “1st class holiday resort” where “the location is perfect, and the facilities were spotless.”

A Cornish site that topped its national category

Wooda is not the only local name with silverware. Tregarton Park at Mevagissey was the overall winner of Best Caravan Park at the 2025 Camping and Glamping Awards, and it carries a 4.93-star rating with every reviewer saying they would go back. Several other Cornish winners were runners-up in the same national awards: Trevalgan Touring Park at St Ives (Best Caravan Park, South West, and a Cornwall Tourism Gold Award), Treloy Touring Park near Newquay (Best Family Campsite, South West), East Crinnis Holiday Park at Par (Best Campsite, South West), and Wooda itself (Best Family Campsite).
