Poundstretcher moves into Newquay’s old Poundland on Bank Street

The empty unit on Bank Street will not stay quiet for long. From Friday, the shutters go up on a familiar name in the discount world, and the first shoppers through the door will not leave empty-handed.

Bargains return to Bank Street

Leading discount retailer Poundstretcher is set to bring the bargains back to Bank Street in Newquay. The chain will reopen the former Poundland unit on Friday, July 31st, creating up to 12 jobs for the local community.

The doors open at 9am, and Deputy Mayor Sarah Thomson will be there to mark the arrival of Poundstretcher in the town. The first 100 customers through the door will get a free goody bag.

What’s on the shelves

The new store will be packed with branded and non-branded bargains across clothing, DIY, gardening, health and beauty, home décor, snacks, storage, pet, sweets and drinks.

The opening forms part of a wider Poundstretcher expansion across the UK, with the company adding stores to reach more shoppers.
