Five seats have opened on Newquay’s sold-out Lapland day trip
The trip that families spend all year hoping to book had sold out. Then five seats came back. Cancellations on the 21 December flight from Cornwall Airport Newquay to Rovaniemi mean a small number of people now have one last chance to spend a day inside the Arctic Circle and be home for Cornwall by the evening.

One day, one flight, straight to Santa
The day trip is run by The Lapland Experience, flying direct from Cornwall Airport Newquay to Rovaniemi, the Finnish city that sits on the edge of the Arctic Circle and calls itself the official hometown of Santa Claus. There are no connections and no overnight stay to arrange. You fly out, spend the day in the snow, and fly back the same night.
The five seats opened up because of cancellations on what had been a fully booked flight. For anyone who missed out first time round, it is the only way back onto the 21 December departure.
What the day includes
The itinerary is built to pack a full Christmas into a single day. Everyone gets a husky sled ride and a reindeer sleigh ride, snow sledging, and a private meeting with Santa rather than a quick wave in a queue. A hot buffet lunch is included, along with time to explore Santa’s Village before the flight home.
The organisers describe it as a day of memories to last a lifetime, with families back in Cornwall the same evening.
How to book
The seats are limited and unlikely to stay open long. Booking is through The Lapland Experience, and the flight leaves from Cornwall Airport Newquay on 21 December.
