Newquay’s Sunset Session brings a later finish to the Killacourt
The music is staying out past teatime this month. Newquay’s summer series has saved one of its bigger afternoons for the middle of August, and this time it keeps playing until the light drops over Towan Beach.

A later format for a longer day
Newquay Town Council is reminding residents and visitors that the next Sunset Session, part of this year’s Newquay Sessions series, takes place on Saturday 15 August on the Killacourt.
As the penultimate session in this year’s series, Sunset Session moves to a later format, running from 3pm to 9pm. The longer window makes room for a more varied programme built to suit a broader crowd, from an afternoon audience through to those who want to stay on into the evening.
Who is playing
The line-up features DJ Jamie Elliott, DJ Proof and saxophonist Sean Lloyd, alongside Dvotion. Between them they bring a mix of DJ sets and live performance across the afternoon and evening, with the music carrying on as the sun sets over Towan Beach.
What to expect on the day
The event is free to attend, with no tickets required, and it is open to all. There is a relaxed atmosphere to settle into for the afternoon, and a licensed bar on site. It has become one of the summer fixtures in Newquay, with the Killacourt’s clifftop setting looking out over the beach as the sets run on.
