Goad and Trevithick Avenue lights saved in Torpoint

A line of blue dots on a council map is good news for two roads in Torpoint. Goad Avenue and Trevithick Avenue were not on the first list of streets to have their lighting brought back. Now they are.

Torpoint Town Council had already welcomed the recent return of street lighting to certain streets in the town. It then submitted a further request, asking for Goad Avenue and Trevithick Avenue to be added to the list, and word has come back that the request has been granted.

Two more streets added to the list

The council said it had received confirmation from Cornwall Council that both avenues would be included. The sections picked out in blue on the map are the ones set to change.

Lights staying on every night

Rather than going dark, the affected sections will be moved to what the council calls the ultra-dimmed profile. That means they will remain illuminated every night, at a lower setting than before.

One date still to come

There is one piece still missing. An implementation date has not been confirmed. Torpoint Town Council has said it will update its announcement as soon as it is told when the switch will be made.
