Truro Food Festival is back, and it wants local venues in

Five days of Cornish food and drink are heading back into the middle of Truro this September, and this time the welcome stretches past the stalls on Lemon Quay. If you run a café, a pub, a restaurant or any food and drink spot in the city centre, there is now a way to get your own name onto the festival’s radar and in front of the crowds it pulls in.

When it returns to Lemon Quay

The Truro Food Festival comes back to Lemon Quay from Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 September, a five-day celebration of Cornwall’s food and drink in the heart of the city.

Opening times shift across the run. The festival is open 9am to 5pm on the Wednesday and Thursday, then 9am to 6pm on the Friday and Saturday, before a shorter Sunday of 10am to 4pm to finish.

What is on across the five days

The line-up leans on local talent. Organisers say the festival will feature award-winning producers and top Cornish chefs, with live music playing alongside.

Who is behind it

The Truro Food Festival is run by Cornwall Event Cabins in partnership with Truro Farmers Market. The invite to city centre businesses was shared locally by Truro BID.

How city centre venues can get involved

Here is the part aimed squarely at local businesses. If you run a food and drink business in the Truro city centre and you are hosting something relevant on your own premises between Wednesday 23 and Sunday 27 September, your business can be promoted within the Truro Food Festival programme.

The organisers are asking venues to email over the details of any of the following:

• A food or drink event on your premises, such as a tasting session or a feast night.
• A food or drink promotion in store, such as a special menu.
• Any live music or entertainment at your venue, ideally during or after festival opening times so it reaches visitors who are already in Truro.

To be added to the programme, email the event organiser at [email protected] with the details.

That last option is looser than it first sounds. The entertainment does not have to be about food or drink at all, and it can be something you had already planned, as long as it helps draw the festival crowds into your venue while they are in town.
