Andy Cato joins Ros Atkins’ Rave Machine at Falmouth’s Cornish Bank

The Cornish Bank in Falmouth turns into a full-tilt rave for one night in September, and the DJ booth has a name on it that most people know from somewhere else entirely.

Andy Cato and MC Chickaboo join the bill

Ros Atkins’ Rave Machine returns to The Cornish Bank on Saturday 12 September, running from 8pm to midnight. Andy Cato, one half of Groove Armada, is the guest DJ for the night, playing a History of House set. Ros is back behind the decks too, once again teaming up with drum ‘n’ bass regular MC Chickaboo. The promise is straightforward: high octane rave music and an all-in party from doors to close.

Why the last one matters

Rave Machine’s last outing at the Church Street venue, in February, sold out. Anyone who was there is being told this one is not to be missed, and organisers are encouraging early tickets rather than risking the door on the night.

The other side of Ros Atkins

Alongside the Rave Machine listing sits a clip of Ros playing a drum ‘n’ bass remix of the BBC News theme song at Glastonbury, a fairly good clue as to what a night with him behind the decks actually sounds like.

Tickets are £9 early bird, rising to £14, through FIXR. The venue is at 34 Church Street, Falmouth, TR11 3EF, and doors run 8pm to midnight.
