Callington Police urge drivers to slow down after fatal crashes

Local roads have been busier with vehicles being driven at excessive speed and in a reckless manner, according to Callington Police, who say the behaviour is putting other road users, pedestrians and the drivers themselves at serious risk.

The warning follows two recent fatal collisions that have been in the news. Callington Police say they are once again asking drivers to think about the way they are driving on local roads.

What officers are asking drivers to do

Callington Police say speeding and dangerous driving can have devastating consequences, and that a moment of poor judgement can result in someone not making it home to their family. Their message to drivers is straightforward. The roads are not a racetrack. Slow down, drive responsibly, and consider the people you are sharing the road with.

Reporting dangerous driving safely

Anyone who witnesses dangerous or reckless driving is asked to report it to police where appropriate, providing as much information as they can safely gather. Callington Police were clear on one point. Never put yourself at risk by attempting to intervene or follow a vehicle.
