Duchy College’s Holly Wins West Country Dairy Award

A small bronze cow now sits among Holly’s things, the trophy that comes with being named the region’s top young dairy talent.

“One of the best decisions” she made

Holly, an Agriculture student at Duchy College, has won the West Country Dairy Award, taking home £2,000 and the competition’s dairy cow trophy.

“This is a huge honour for me and something I am incredibly proud of. The dairy industry has become a real passion of mine throughout my studies, and receiving this award feels like recognition not only of the work I have put in, but also of the people and opportunities that have helped me get to this point. Choosing Duchy College was one of the best decisions I could have made for my career,” Holly said.

It caps a course that has pulled her deeper into farming and the wider dairy sector, backed by the practical grounding Duchy College is known for.

Duchy College’s Maddie also in the finals

Holly wasn’t the only Duchy College student to make the final. Fellow student Maddie also reached the finals of the Westcountry Dairy Awards, a strong showing for the college across the board.
