The Cornwall and Devon roads with speed checks this week

Ease off before you hit the accelerator this week. Devon and Cornwall Police’s Road Safety Team has published exactly where its speed detection officers will be working, day by day, right across Devon and Cornwall, and one patch of the county barely gets a day off.

Where the speed checks are this week

The team has shared its planned areas for Devon and Cornwall Police‘s speed detection officers for the week beginning Monday 21 September. The list covers broad policing areas rather than specific roads, so enforcement could turn up anywhere within them.

• Monday 21 September: Mid Cornwall, Plymouth, North Devon, South Devon
• Tuesday 22 September: Mid Cornwall, East Cornwall, Plymouth, North Devon, South Devon
• Wednesday 23 September: West Cornwall, Mid Cornwall, Plymouth, East Devon, Mid Devon, North Devon, South Devon
• Thursday 24 September: East Cornwall, Exeter, West Devon, North Devon, South Devon
• Friday 25 September: Mid Cornwall, West Cornwall, East Cornwall, East Devon
• Saturday 26 September: East Cornwall, Mid Cornwall
• Sunday 27 September: Mid Cornwall, East Cornwall

The area barely getting a day off

Run down that list and one area stands out. Mid Cornwall appears on six of the seven days, missing only Thursday, making it the most consistently covered patch on the whole schedule. East Cornwall is not far behind, featuring five days out of seven. West Cornwall, Mid Devon, Exeter and West Devon see the lightest touch, each appearing on the list just once or twice this week.

The Road Safety Team offered no further detail on exact roads, times, or camera types, just the areas themselves and a simple message to go with them.
