Three drivers caught speeding outside Connor Downs Academy
Three drivers who passed Connor Downs Academy at drop-off time can expect a letter through the door.
A safety camera van from the Devon & Cornwall Police Road Safety Team was parked up outside the school on Friday morning (2 October), checking the speed of traffic as children arrived.

What the team found
The police team said it went to the school to monitor traffic speeds at drop-off time and to provide what it called “a highly visible deterrent to drivers”.
Three drivers were found to be exceeding the enforcement threshold. The team said all three will receive notices of intended prosecution in the next few days.
The message to drivers
The team shared a road sign image alongside its update, carrying the words “Kill your speed, not a child”.
And it had a direct request for anyone driving near a school.
“Please slow down around schools and colleges, particularly at drop-off and pick-up times,” the team said.
