Cornwall speed camera checks: where police will be 5 to 11 October

If you drive in Cornwall this week, there is one part of the county where you could meet a speed check on any day you choose.

The Devon & Cornwall Police Road Safety Team has shared where its speed enforcement sessions will be focussed from Monday 5 October to Sunday 11 October. East Cornwall is on the list every single day. And there is only one day when the rest of Cornwall gets a break.

Where the speed checks are in Cornwall this week

The team says its sessions are focussed “primarily” in the areas below, which means the list is a guide to where police will be concentrating. It does not name individual roads, towns or villages.

• Monday 5 October: West Cornwall, Mid Cornwall, East Cornwall
• Tuesday 6 October: Mid Cornwall, West Cornwall, East Cornwall
• Wednesday 7 October: West Cornwall, Mid Cornwall, East Cornwall
• Thursday 8 October: Mid Cornwall, West Cornwall, East Cornwall
• Friday 9 October: East Cornwall
• Saturday 10 October: West Cornwall, Mid Cornwall, East Cornwall
• Sunday 11 October: Mid Cornwall, West Cornwall, East Cornwall

The one quieter day

Friday 9 October is the odd one out. It is the only day this week when West Cornwall and Mid Cornwall do not appear, with the focus in Cornwall on the east of the county.

The weekend is fully covered. All three Cornish areas are listed on both Saturday and Sunday.

Heading over the Tamar?

The same team covers Devon, and its list for the week includes these areas too.

• Monday 5 October: East Devon, Mid Devon
• Tuesday 6 October: Plymouth
• Wednesday 7 October: Plymouth
• Thursday 8 October: West Devon, Plymouth, North Devon
• Friday 9 October: Plymouth, Mid Devon, West Devon, North Devon
• Saturday 10 October: Exeter, East Devon
• Sunday 11 October: East Devon, Mid Devon

Plymouth appears four days running, from Tuesday to Friday.

What the Road Safety Team is asking

The team signed off its update with a short message for anyone getting behind the wheel this week.

“Please drive safely and within the speed limits wherever you are.”
