What happened on Cross Street

Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police say the incident took place on Cross Street, Camborne, last Saturday (3 October).

A PCSO had detained a woman who, according to the team, was resisting and trying to get away.

A number of members of the public then came to the PCSO’s assistance. They helped to stop the woman from escaping until police officers arrived, and she was then arrested.

‘A real difference’

In a message shared by the Camborne, Pool and Redruth team, part of Devon and Cornwall Police, a member of the team said: “I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of those members of the public who stepped in to help a PCSO on Cross Street, Camborne.

“Their quick thinking and willingness to help made a real difference and ensured that the situation was brought to a safe conclusion.”

Police and communities working together

The team said the response from people on the street was what they hope to see more of.

“We often talk about the importance of police and communities working together and this was a fantastic example of exactly that,” the message said.

“Thank you to everyone that assisted, your actions were greatly appreciated.”
