A decade of big moments
Kate’s time in the role covered some of the most significant events Cornwall has faced in recent years, from hosting world leaders to responding to a pandemic and a run of extreme weather.
Kate Kennally said: “I am privileged to have served Cornwall for ten years, during which time Cornwall has hosted the G7 leaders’ summit, worked with communities to respond to the Covid pandemic and recovered from significant events such as the Coverack floods and Storm Goretti. I am proud of what has been achieved during that time and wish Cornwall every success for the future.”
What happens next
The council says interim leadership arrangements are already in place. Recruitment for a new permanent Chief Executive will begin in due course, though no timetable has been given.
The council said it wishes Kate well for the future.
