Callington Town Council Seeks Driver After Car Park Incident

Published On: 23 January 2024Last Updated: 23 January 2024By

In a recent incident at Callington, a white transit van caused significant damage to a car park facility on Saltash Road. The event, which occurred just before 8 am on Saturday, involved the van colliding with the height barrier of the free car park, resulting in the barrier being pulled from its concrete fixings and left in an unstable condition.

In a statement released by Callington Town Council, it was noted with concern that the driver involved in the incident did not report the damage. However, the council has been able to secure clear CCTV footage of the event, which includes the vehicle’s registration number.

The Town Council is now reaching out to the driver, or anyone who may know the driver, urging them to come forward and discuss the matter. In a move aimed at resolving the issue amicably, the council has offered the individual a chance to speak with them before the matter is escalated to the police.

The council has provided contact details for those who wish to come forward, either through a phone call at 01579 384039 or via email to the Town Clerk at clerk@callington-tc.gov.uk. The Callington Town Council expresses its anticipation in hearing from the responsible party and emphasises the importance of addressing the situation responsibly.
