Boardmasters 2025: RAYE and The Prodigy Headline with a Massive First Wave of Acts
Cornwall’s most iconic surf and music festival, Boardmasters, has unveiled its first wave of artists for 2025, promising an unforgettable line-up of global talent. Taking place from 6th-10th August 2025 at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach, this year’s festival will be headlined by RAYE and The Prodigy, alongside over 40 other artists.
Headliners That Pack a Punch
RAYE, a trailblazer in the music industry with six BRIT Awards and three GRAMMY nominations, takes centre stage in 2025. Known for her chart-topping single ‘Escapism’ and a Mercury Prize nomination, RAYE’s dynamic performances and genre-defying sound make her a must-see. Joining her is the legendary The Prodigy, known for hits like ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Omen’. With their iconic techno-punk energy, they’ll bring a raw and rebellious spirit to the festival.
Big Names and Special Guests
This year’s line-up includes pop icon Nelly Furtado, delivering hits like ‘I’m Like a Bird’, indie favourites London Grammar, and the ethereal sounds of Maribou State. Mercury Prize winners Wet Leg will also take to the stage, performing smash hits like ‘Chaise Longue’.
For the first time, Boardmasters introduces afternoon special guests. Leeds rockers Kaiser Chiefs, hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, and summer anthem queen Natasha Bedingfield will keep the vibes high throughout the day.
Beyond the Music
Boardmasters isn’t just about the music. The festival offers activities like surf lessons, kayaking, and bodyboarding at Fistral Beach. Campers can enjoy the tranquil Zennor Haven, complete with sound baths and mindfulness workshops, or get moving at the festival’s iconic Muscle Beach, which features a full outdoor gym, DJs, and daily challenges.
In the main arena, festival-goers can explore The Boulevard, indulge in street food, join a silent disco, or enjoy singalongs with the Cornwall Rock Choir. The famous Boardmasters OPEN surfing competition will also return, showcasing top international pro surfers.
Enhanced Camping and Accommodation Options
This year, camping has been elevated with new options like Camping+, offering reserved pitches and premium facilities, and Chilled Camping, designed for groups seeking a quieter experience. For those staying off-site, Boardmasters now provides packages at Elemental Surf Lodge and SeaSpace, offering proximity to the action with added amenities.
Safety and Sustainability
Boardmasters has bolstered its security measures for 2025, including a 20% increase in on-site security, additional entry search lanes, and more elevated watchtowers. Sustainability remains key, with green travel options like the Big Green Coach expanding its routes to 119 long-distance options.
