Boardmasters, the iconic festival renowned for its blend of music and surfing, is set to make 2024 its most unforgettable year yet. Taking place from 7-11 August 2024 along the scenic Cornish coast, the festival has announced a lineup that promises to draw crowds from across the globe. Headlining acts include Stormzy, Sam Fender, and Chase & Status, alongside a stellar list of performers such as Becky Hill, Courteeners, and many more, ensuring a diverse musical experience for all attendees.
In a significant move to promote sustainable travel, Boardmasters has partnered with Big Green Coach to launch 14 new direct coach routes specifically designed for day ticket holders. This development aims to provide festival-goers with a greener, more convenient, and more efficient way to reach the event, reflecting Boardmasters’ ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and alleviating traffic congestion in the local area.
The new coach routes will cover various pick-up points across the South West, including Bodmin, Exeter, and Plymouth, among others, with drop-off directly at the festival gates. This initiative is a response to the growing demand for sustainable and hassle-free travel options within Cornwall and the surrounding regions. According to Big Green Coach, the introduction of these routes will significantly reduce the potential traffic congestion by eliminating approximately a quarter mile of cars per full coach from the roads.
Additionally, Boardmasters is introducing a Park and Ride service located off the A30, offering another alternative for attendees to access the festival site with ease. The service includes buses running to and from the festival throughout the day, with a round-trip costing £7 and parking at an additional £10.
For those staying in Newquay or arriving by train, Boardmasters has also organised official shuttle buses from Newquay to the festival site, priced at £3.50 for a single journey, further enhancing the accessibility of the festival.
With the pre-sale for day tickets launching soon, Boardmasters urges fans to sign up quickly to secure their spot at what is expected to be the fastest-selling edition in the festival’s history. The festival continues to emphasise its “Leave Only Footprints” pledge, encouraging attendees to consider their environmental impact while enjoying the rich musical and surfing offerings of Boardmasters 2024.
