Body Found at Bude in Search for Missing Boscastle Man

Police searching for a missing man from Boscastle have confirmed that a body has been found at Bude.

Officers and HM Coastguard were called at around 6.30pm on Friday 31st January after the body of a man was discovered in the sea at Bude. He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

Formal identification has yet to be carried out, but police believe the man to be 37 year old Alexander Key, who was reported missing on 24th January.

Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and that a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Alexander’s family has thanked police and HM Coastguard for their efforts, along with all those who assisted in the search. They have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
