Dog Missing Overnight Found on Narrow Cliff Ledge at Trebarwith
📟 Boscastle Coastguard Team paged at 10.45am on Monday 5th January
Boscastle Coastguard were paged on Monday morning after reports of a dog stuck partway down an approximately 100 foot cliff at Trebarwith.
The dog had been reported missing since the previous day and was spotted that morning by a member of the public. It was located on a narrow cliff ledge around halfway down the cliff.
Support Called In
Due to the nature of the incident, Polzeath Coastguard were also tasked to support the Boscastle team.
A qualified cliff technician was lowered down to reach the dog. The animal was found to be uninjured and was assessed at the scene.
Safe Recovery and Reunion
Following the assessment, the dog was safely recovered and brought back to the cliff top. It was then reunited with its owners, who were described as relieved and grateful.
The circumstances surrounding how the dog came to be in this position are unknown. The Coastguard team has asked that any comments remain good natured.
