Bude Lifeboat Day 2025 to Feature Fireworks, Competitions and Family Fun

Bude will come alive this summer as the town hosts its annual Bude Lifeboat Day on Monday 25th August, offering a packed schedule of entertainment in celebration and support of the RNLI’s lifesaving work.

The event will take place across several locations including the Lifeboat station, Summerleaze beach, Castle Grounds, The Wharf, Brendon Arms and more. The day will finish with a spectacular firework display at 9:10 pm, sponsored by The Brendon Arms and The Falcon Hotel.

Lifeboat Station and Beach Activities

From 10 am to 4 pm, the Lifeboat station will open its doors for tours, alongside a static display from the Bude Coastguard Rescue team.

Children can join a treasure hunt on Summerleaze beach at 1 pm, followed by a search and rescue demonstration with Bude Lifeboat at 2 pm. Pasties will be available from 10 am.

Castle Grounds, Bude Light and The Canal

The Castle Grounds and Bude Light will host a full day of entertainment from 10 am to 4 pm, featuring charity stalls, games, food vendors, and live music and performances.

At the Canal, Barkhouse Green and Wharf, traditional rowing races will begin at 10 am, with family amusement rides and displays of classic cars running into the evening. Other highlights include live music and dancing, a canoe polo tournament, and a hog roast BBQ.

Famous Pasty Competition and Evening Entertainment

Starting at 12 pm, the Brendon Arms and Falcon Hotel will host the well-known pasty competition, followed by an auction. Live music and performances will continue into the evening and after the firework display.

Supporting the RNLI

Bude Lifeboat Day will raise funds to support the RNLI’s mission to save lives at sea, with all proceeds going directly to the charity’s volunteer crews.

The event is sponsored by Bank Aston, Wooda Farm Holiday Park, The Bay View Inn, Paul Finn Solicitors, LCH Vehicle Hire, with the firework display supported by The Brendon Arms and The Falcon Inn.
