Marhamchurch School Launches New After-School Wraparound Care
New After-School Club Keeps Marhamchurch Pupils Safe Until 5.45pm
Marhamchurch C of E Academy has launched a new after-school Wrap Around Club, giving families access to extended childcare every weekday until 5.45pm.
The school, which is part of the Learning Academy Partnership, says the new provision is aimed at supporting working parents while offering pupils a safe, engaging and enjoyable space once the school day ends.
Flexible care at the end of the school day
The Wrap Around Club runs alongside existing after-school clubs, with children able to join from either 3.15pm or 4.15pm through to 5.45pm.
Pupils take part in a range of activities, including snacks, games and calming sessions designed to help them unwind.
Alongside the new club, this year’s after-school activities at Marhamchurch C of E Academy include tag rugby, tchoukball, gymnastics, choir and yoga.
Supporting families and access to activities
The new provision links to a national Government programme aimed at expanding wraparound childcare, increasing the number of places available for primary school children and helping families balance work and childcare commitments.
Parents can book places through the school app, and some families may be able to use Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit Childcare support to help cover the cost.
What the school and trust have said
Headteacher Deirdre Petersen said:
“We’re delighted to offer this new Wrap Around Club, giving families more flexibility while ensuring children have a safe and enjoyable space after school. It’s a chance for our pupils to try new activities, make friends, and unwind at the end of the day.”
Tracey Cleverly, CEO of Learning Academy Partnership, added:
“Expanding wraparound care across our schools is a key part of our commitment to supporting families and giving every child the opportunity to thrive. Marhamchurch’s new provision ensures that children can continue learning, socialising, and developing skills outside the classroom in a safe, inclusive environment.”
