A motorcyclist riding an illegal pit bike in Bugle made a swift getaway yesterday afternoon, but left his bike behind – and police didn’t hesitate to take action.

Seized and Heading for Scrap

PC Chris Husband was patrolling in the area on Thursday, 17th July, when he spotted a pit bike being ridden illegally on the road. After attempting to stop the rider, the individual chose not to comply and left the bike unattended just around the corner.

PC Chris Husband promptly seized the vehicle, which is now set to be scrapped.

Enquiries Ongoing

Police say enquiries are ongoing to identify the motorcyclist. The Neighbourhood Team described the outcome as a positive step in removing another illegal motorcycle from the road – a vehicle that could have posed a danger to other road users and pedestrians.
