Boulderflash Opens First Retail Shop at The Tide Climbing Centre

Boulderflash, the UK-based climbing retailer, has opened its first ever physical store inside The Tide Climbing Centre in Padstow, Cornwall. The launch introduces a new model for the sport, with an established online retailer bringing its range directly into a climbing gym.

A New Kind of Climbing Shop

The new shop carries leading climbing shoe brands including Scarpa, Unparallel, Red Chili, Tenaya and Evolv. It also stocks specialist training equipment from Lattice Training and YY Vertical, alongside a wide selection of accessories and gifts.

By combining online pricing and product variety with the convenience of in-gym shopping, Boulderflash aims to give climbers the chance to buy shoes, training tools and accessories in the same place they train.

Supporting Independent Centres

Founder Mitch Singer explained the thinking behind the approach:
“Independent climbing centres often can’t stock a full range of products at competitive prices. Our goal is to change that by blending the online and offline experience, giving climbers access to more gear where they climb.”

The model also supports independent centres, which often face challenges in offering a wide range of gear without the overhead of running a traditional retail operation.

Plans to Expand

If successful, Boulderflash plans to expand this shop-in-gym concept to centres across the UK. The launch is part of a wider mission to support climbing communities by making high-quality gear more accessible and reinvesting in the sport’s growth.
