Peter Andrew MBE to step down as Chair, Cath Robinson retires after over four decades in public service.

March 12, 2024 – Corserv Ltd, a key subsidiary of Cornwall Council, today revealed significant leadership changes set to unfold in the coming months. The company announced the departure of Peter Andrew MBE from his role as Chair of the Board, alongside the retirement of CEO Cath Robinson, marking the end of an era of dedicated service within Cornwall’s public sector.

Peter, who has helmed the Corserv Group since September 2019, will leave his position at the end of March. During his tenure, he oversaw the group, which encompasses entities such as Cormac, Cornwall Airport Newquay, Corserv Care, and Corserv Facilities, through various challenges including the pandemic and a major company restructure. This reorganisation aimed to consolidate the group into a single entity with a focused commercial strategy.

Reflecting on Peter’s contributions, Councillor Richard Williams-Pears commended his leadership through significant periods of change and his role in steering the business towards recovery post-Covid. The Council is actively searching for Peter’s successor, with Julia Gregory stepping in as Interim Chair and Anthony Byrne as Interim Senior Independent Director until a permanent appointment is made.

In parallel, Cath Robinson announced her retirement after an impressive 41 years of public service in Cornwall. Since taking over as CEO in March 2018, Cath has led Corserv through transformative periods, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery. Her career, beginning as an accountant trainee at just 16, has been marked by progression through Cornwall Council to eventually leading Corserv.

Cath’s leadership was particularly noteworthy during the G7 Summit in 2021, a testament to her commitment to collaborative success and community service. As she looks forward to exploring new interests, the Corserv Board has initiated the search for a new CEO to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Both Peter and Cath have been pivotal figures in Corserv’s journey, contributing immensely to its development and success. As they move on from their roles, they leave behind a legacy of dedication and achievement that will continue to inspire Corserv’s direction and strategy in serving Cornwall.
