Dream of Working by the Water? Exciting Roles Available with Children’s Sailing Trust

Published On: 22 January 2025Last Updated: 22 January 2025By

The Children’s Sailing Trust (CST), a well-established charity, is offering an array of job opportunities for 2025. With its picturesque locations on the Helford River and at its headquarters at Trevassack Lake, this organisation is inviting fresh talent to join its dynamic team.

Over the years, CST has undergone significant growth, establishing a watersports “centre of excellence” on the Lizard peninsula. The site also serves as a community hub and holiday destination, celebrated for its accessibility and inclusivity. As the charity continues to expand its sailing programmes and infrastructure, several roles are now available.

Fundraising Manager

CST is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fundraising Manager to develop and implement its fundraising strategy. The ideal candidate will have exceptional prospecting skills and a proven ability to secure funding from grants, trusts, and foundations.

This hybrid, full-time role is open to individuals from a variety of backgrounds, as transferable skills and passion for CST’s mission are highly valued. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply promptly.

Chief Instructor – Helford River

For those with a passion for sailing and a knack for working with children, the position of Chief Instructor is now available. This role requires an RYA Senior Instructor with experience in tidal waters to lead sailing programmes on the Helford River, a core element of CST’s charitable work.

Candidates should bring energy, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills to deliver high-quality, inclusive experiences. Fun-loving individuals who can adapt to outdoor challenges and connect with young people are encouraged to apply.

Seasonal Instructor Roles – March to October

From Senior Instructors to Activity and Dinghy Instructors, CST is looking to fill a variety of positions for the 2025 season. These roles require RYA qualifications, with additional paddlesport or powerboat instructor certifications being desirable.

Senior Instructors will oversee teams and manage day-to-day activities, while Activity and Dinghy Instructors will work collaboratively to provide enriching watersports experiences.

Don’t miss the chance to join this inspiring charity and make a difference in the lives of children and young people.

“Working with the best backdrops for any sailing centre, anywhere, the beautiful Helford River valley and the serene, picturesque Trevassack Lake at the heart of the Lizard peninsula, we feel very lucky,” said Rupert, CST’s Activity Manager.
