Meet the Duchy 25: Cockwells Unveils Luxury Motor Launch Ahead of Global Debut
Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has launched its all-new Duchy 25 ahead of her global debut at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS25), which runs from 19th to 28th September.
A New Addition to the Duchy Range
Described as the dynamic little sister of the company’s Duchy Motor Launches, the Duchy 25 combines style, sophistication and versatility. Smaller and lighter than the rest of the range, she has a shorter and shallower hull but still offers a spacious open-air cockpit with room for up to six guests.
Weighing just 2.5 tonnes, the Duchy 25 can be easily towed by road trailer, making her suitable for rivers, estuaries or coastal seas across destinations such as the River Thames, the French Riviera or the Italian lakes.
Custom Options for Every Owner
Like other Duchy models, the new 25 can be customised. Founder and Executive Chairman, Dave Cockwell, explained:
“In the case of the Duchy 25, to meet an increasing demand for flexible outboard engines, you can choose between 40hp and 200hp to suit your personal requirements for speed and performance. You can also select from traditional petrol or electric engines to match your preferred style of boating.
“Whether you require a petrol outboard for longer, coastal journeys and punching through the waves, or prefer an electric engine to cruise quietly down rivers with emission-free propulsion and a minimal wake, the choice is entirely yours.”
On-Board Comfort
An outboard engine maximises space in the cockpit, where guests can enjoy 360-degree views, dine at a varnished table or relax on a day bed. The helm and companion seats are fully adjustable, with a protective windscreen and options for additional covers.
Inside, the cabin offers a double V berth, a well-equipped galley with induction hob and fridge, bespoke crockery and glassware, and an enclosed heads compartment with electric toilet, hot shower and sink.
The decks are laid with low-maintenance synthetic teak, while bathing platforms, stainless steel railings and safety features ensure ease of use. The helm console comes with a 9” Raymarine touchscreen display for digital control of all internal systems.
Showcasing at Southampton
Visitors to Stand M112, M113 and M114 at SIBS25 will be able to view the Duchy 25, alongside the company’s Duchy 35 ‘Siala’, and the new Hardy 45 European, recently launched in Cornwall by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.
Cockwells said: “With our wealth of knowledge, reputation for excellence and exemplary customer service, Cockwells is ideally placed to support those interested in purchasing craft of the highest quality and we look forward to meeting prospective clients in Southampton. A warm welcome awaits you on the Cockwells stand where you can discuss your unique on-the-water specifications with our friendly and experienced team.”
