More Support for Cornish Rugby! Jewson Steps Up for the Cornish Pirates
The Cornish Pirates have announced a new partnership with Jewson, naming the builders’ merchant as the Official Builders Merchant of the club. The deal marks a return for Jewson, which has had a long association with the Pirates, and sees the Newlyn end of the Mennaye Field rebranded as the Jewson End.
A Strong Cornish Presence
With 12 branches across Cornwall, including locations in Penzance, Hayle, Truro, Penryn, Helston, Redruth, St Austell, Liskeard, West Looe, Wadebridge, Newquay, and Launceston, Jewson has a well-established presence in the county. The company, part of a national chain, prides itself on supporting local tradespeople and investing in Cornish sport at various levels.
A Welcome Return
Ross Hancock, Head of Media, Marketing and Commercial for the Cornish Pirates, expressed his enthusiasm for the renewed partnership, saying:
“We are delighted to welcome back Jewson to the Mennaye Field. Jewson are a national company with a local focus none more so than Regional Director, Gareth May. They have strong base of branches down here in Cornwall which is important to us and the local community. The rebrand is modern and slick and looks fantastic at the Newlyn end. I’d like to also place on record my thanks to Gareth May for getting this partnership in place. It’s great to keep those kinds of stories going.”
Jewson’s Commitment to Cornwall
Gareth May, Jewson’s Regional Director for the South West, highlighted the significance of the renewed connection with the Cornish Pirates, saying:
“I am very proud that Jewson has a presence at the Mennaye Field and that our long association with the Cornish Pirates is re-established with the renaming of the Jewson End.
Whilst we are a national business, we very much focus on supporting the interests of our local tradesmen and women and that allows us to invest into Cornish sport at various levels.
We would like to wish the Cornish Pirates all the very best for the remainder of the season and we look forward to catching up with faces old and new around the Mennaye in the coming months.”
With the Jewson End now a key feature at the Mennaye, supporters can expect to see the builders’ merchant playing a more visible role in the club’s future.
