Sapphire Holidays Announces New Software Business for Holiday Letting Sector

A Cornwall based holiday letting group has announced plans to launch a new software business aimed at the holiday letting sector.

Sapphire Holidays, which owns a number of self catering holiday letting agencies, has revealed it is creating a dedicated technology company called Staysuite.

New cloud based platform planned

Staysuite will offer software as a service products designed specifically for the holiday letting market. The business will bring together decades of in house IT expertise built up within Sapphire Holidays and package it as a standalone cloud based platform.

The new system is scheduled to launch in early 2028.

Sapphire Holidays is currently recruiting six software developers to help build the platform, with the new business set to be based at the group’s headquarters in Hayle.

Built on decades of in house technology

Through its founding brand Classic Cottages, Sapphire Holidays has been developing its own technology for around 40 years. During that time, its IT setup has grown from a single early computer in the 1980s to a 14 strong team designing and building the group’s websites, apps and customer relationship management systems entirely in house.

The creation of Staysuite brings this expertise together into one business that will support both Sapphire Holidays’ own operations and other holiday letting companies.

Supporting growth and acquisitions

Sapphire Holidays director Shane Cornish said the new business would allow the group to upgrade its own systems while also making its technology available to others in the sector.

He said Staysuite would also help the group integrate new businesses more effectively as it continues to grow and contribute to Cornwall’s expanding tech sector by creating a new software company.

Over the past year, Sapphire Holidays has made three acquisitions in Dorset, North Devon and the Isle of Man. A unified cloud based platform is expected to support future acquisitions as the group expands.

One of the UK’s largest family run agencies

Sapphire Holidays is the UK’s largest family run holiday letting agency. Its portfolio includes Aspects Holidays, Boutique Retreats, Classic Cottages, Island Escapes and Unique Hideaways.

Across its brands, the group manages around 2,850 holiday letting properties nationwide and employs approximately 260 staff.
