Public Consultation Launched for Proposed Dupath Spring Solar Farm Near Callington
Public consultation now open for 49.9 MW Dupath Spring Solar Farm
EDF power solutions has launched a public consultation on its plans for a new solar farm to the southeast of Callington. The proposed 49.9 MW Dupath Spring Solar Farm could generate enough low carbon electricity to power the domestic needs of around 15,437 households each year.
The consultation began today, Monday 30th June, and will run until Thursday 31st July. Local residents are being encouraged to attend one of two in-person events at St Dominic Parish Hall and to share their thoughts online.
EDF says the solar farm would help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 21,598 tonnes annually. The company is also proposing a £20,000 annual community fund for the lifetime of the 40-year project, alongside plans for new wildflower meadows, hedgerows and trees to boost biodiversity.

Tuesday 15th July, 3pm to 6.30pm
-

EDF says it is keen to work closely with the community and is inviting feedback before submitting a planning application to Cornwall Council later this year.
Have your say
Bert Bayley, Project Developer at EDF power solutions, said:
“During this public consultation, EDF power solutions is excited to share more information about Dupath Spring Solar Farm and hear from local residents.
“We look forward to engaging with the community about our proposals as we are keen to maximise the benefits that the project would deliver. This includes an annual community benefit fund as well as significant improvements to the biodiversity of the site. We welcome feedback from local people about what initiatives they’d like us to focus on, and whether there are local priorities we need to be aware of.”
Anyone interested in taking part can email the team at dupath_spring@edf-re.uk or visit the project website for more details.
If approved, EDF expects a planning application to be submitted in late 2025. Site preparation could begin in 2028, with installation taking 12 to 15 months to complete.
