Camborne Academy Riders Secure Multiple Qualifications for Prestigious Event

The equestrian team at Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) has secured an impressive set of qualifications for the National Finals at The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead, a venue renowned for hosting some of the UK’s most prestigious equestrian competitions.

CSIA, which is part of Athena Learning Trust, will be proudly represented at the finals after its riders delivered outstanding performances at Bicton Arena last month. Competing in the 80cm and 90cm show jumping categories, both CSIA teams emerged as the top performers in Cornwall, earning their places in the national competition.

Individual Success and Arena Eventing Triumph

Beyond the team qualifications, individual riders also stood out. Lexie R and Amber J secured their spots in the 70cm and 80cm classes, respectively. The success didn’t stop there, as CSIA’s arena eventing teams also excelled in the 80cm and 90cm categories earlier this month.

Arena eventing is a challenging discipline that combines show jumping with cross-country elements, demanding both speed and precision. The CSIA riders demonstrated exceptional versatility, securing additional qualifications for the National Finals. Among the individual victories, Maddie N and Amber J also earned their places at Hickstead, reinforcing the academy’s reputation for developing top-tier equestrian talent.

Aiming for National Glory

The team now has its sights set on the May half-term finals, where they hope to build on last year’s impressive second-place finish and claim the national title. With a proven track record of success, CSIA’s equestrian programme continues to produce high-performing riders who thrive in competitive environments.

Principal Emma Haase expressed her pride in the team’s achievement, stating:

“Qualifying for Hickstead is a monumental achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder of our riders. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment have been incredible throughout this journey. The team has shown outstanding growth and determination, and we are all excited for the chance to compete at such a legendary venue. We are looking forward to bringing our best and aiming for that top spot!”

A Strong Foundation for Success

CSIA, rated Good across key areas and Outstanding for its Sixth Form provision, continues to provide students with opportunities to excel both academically and in extracurricular activities. The equestrian programme is just one example of how the academy supports students in pursuing their passions and developing skills that extend beyond the classroom.

With the finals at Hickstead fast approaching, all eyes will be on the CSIA team as they prepare to take on the nation’s best in their quest for equestrian glory.
