CSIA Riders Celebrate Success in Showjumping and Eventing
Riders from Camborne Science and International Academy are celebrating after a standout day of equestrian achievements, with wins in the ring and a coveted qualification for Hickstead.
Strong Results at Pendarves
The CSIA showjumping team delivered an impressive set of results at the Cornish Schools and Colleges Team Show Jumping Competition, held at Pendarves Equestrian Centre on 16th November.
In the Open 80 to 85cm section, Evie M claimed the individual win with a double clear in the fastest time of the day. Lexie R also went double clear to finish third, while the Open Team took second overall in the jumping and second in tack and turnout. Riding at this height for the first time, Lottie T completed a confident round with just four faults on her debut at this level.
The Novice section brought more success. Daisy H topped the individual results with a double clear and the fastest time recorded. The Novice team placed fifth in tack and turnout, with strong performances from Kiera S, Martha H, Isla M, Thomas R, Evie R and Poppy H.
Amber Earns Her Ticket to Hickstead
While the team were competing at Pendarves, Amber J was securing her place at next year’s NSEA National Eventers Challenge Championship at Hickstead.
Competing at Bicton Arena in Devon, Amber rode in both the 80cm and 90cm classes. Her composed round in the 80cm class earned her qualification for Hickstead, a notable achievement given the technical nature of the course and level of competition.
Amber is due to travel to Hickstead in May. Other CSIA riders may join her, with more qualifying events scheduled for February and March.
School Pride in a Day of Success
Camborne Science and International Academy, part of Athena Learning Trust, continues to build on its record of equestrian success.
Principal Emma Haase said:
“The whole team represented the school brilliantly, showing great skill, determination and sportsmanship. I’m so proud of them all. A special congratulations to Amber, whose hard work has earned her a well-deserved place at Hickstead. We hope more of our young riders will join her there in May.”
