In a significant boost to local enterprises, businesses in Camborne have been awarded over £80,000 in grants at the latest Project A-Void panel meeting this February.

This funding is part of BID Camborne’s broader effort to revitalise the local economy, with Project A-Void playing a pivotal role in these efforts.

The project, managed by BID Camborne, is one of eleven to benefit from the Government’s Town Deal, which has allocated a total of £23.7 million to various projects aimed at rejuvenating towns across the nation. Specifically, Project A-Void has seen substantial investment, with nearly £507,000 available in its second phase to complement the £262,000 disbursed during its initial phase.

As the project nears its conclusion, a final call has been made for applications, targeting businesses keen on launching pop-up shops, scaling their operations, or occupying vacant commercial premises. Anna Pascoe, the BID Camborne Manager, emphasised the urgency of this call, noting that the deadline for the remaining funds is the end of March. She highlighted the project’s success in facilitating business improvements, enhancing the town’s aesthetic, improving energy efficiency, and upgrading working environments.

Pascoe also remarked on the broader impact of these grants, especially in light of the current cost of living challenges, describing the funding as a “welcome and much-needed boost for Camborne”.

Further details about Project A-Void and how it fits into Camborne’s broader development strategy can be found on the Camborne Town website. This marks a critical moment for the local business community to leverage the remaining funds for substantial benefit, echoing the project’s overarching goal to invigorate the town’s economy and improve the local business landscape.
