Planning Approved for Park Gerry Development in Camborne
Planning permission has now been granted for a major development at Park Gerry Playing Fields in Camborne, with a skatepark, pavilion, multi-use games area, football pitch, parking, and landscaping all included in the approved plans.
Part of a £23.7m Town Deal Package
The Park Gerry upgrade is one of ten projects to receive funding through Camborne’s £23.7 million Town Deal. Camborne Town Council is managing the development, which aims to provide new recreational opportunities for the community.
Community-Driven Vision
According to Camborne Town Council, the final plans were shaped by local ideas and feedback. A turf-cutting event is being planned for mid-August to mark the beginning of the works.
Val Dalley, Chair of Camborne Town Deal, said:
“It’s great news that work can now begin on what promises to be a state-of-the-art recreational facility.”
“The aim has always been to transform the area into a place where people of all ages can play, relax and connect and, having now achieved planning approval, we’re well on the way to making that happen.”
“It’s a significant milestone for Camborne and I’m looking forward to seeing the skatepark being well-used next year.”
