£200,000 Up for Grabs: Charities and Community Groups Invited to Apply

A new £200,000 funding programme has been launched by the Persimmon Charitable Foundation, offering charities and community groups a chance to secure vital financial support.

Two £50,000 Donations Available in May

Applications are now open for the first round of funding, which will see two £50,000 donations awarded in May. A second round will follow in June, with another two donations of the same amount set to be distributed in September.

The programme is aimed at organisations focused on social mobility and youth development, including learning and training opportunities. The Foundation hopes this approach will allow more groups to access its support and expand their efforts to tackle inequality.

Previous Winner From the South West

One of the latest beneficiaries of Persimmon’s funding was the South West Social Mobility Commission. Established in response to a 2022 report that highlighted the region as having the lowest social mobility in England, the Commission works to address economic and educational inequalities.

By bringing together leaders from education, civil society, and business, the Commission aims to challenge perceptions of the South West as a low-skill and low-wage economy, strengthen education at all levels, and reform business recruitment and development practices.

Anthony Vigor, Chair of the Foundation, said:

“This new open application programme will create new opportunities for us to support organisations that tackle inequality and aid social mobility, helping us to change more lives.”

Charities and community groups interested in applying for funding must submit their applications by 11.59pm on Sunday, April 13th. Applications can be made via the Foundation section of the Persimmon Corporate website.
