Could These New Wellbeing Courses Change Your Winter Mood?

The Edward Hain Centre is closing out the year with two creative wellbeing events, adding to what has already been a busy period of growth for its community services.

Introduction to Creative Wellbeing

The first offering is a 10 hour therapeutic course called Introduction to Creative Wellbeing. It starts next Monday, 24th November, running from 9.30 to noon, and continues for the following three Mondays.

Led by qualified creative therapist Hannah Killick, through her business Oreanna Wellness, the course invites people to explore creative and therapeutic ways of expressing themselves.

Hannah says: “The course aims to provide people with an alternative way to process their emotions. It is an expressive journey of self-discovery that reduces stress and promotes wellbeing, and I’m excited to bring it to the Edward Hain!”

Each two and a half hour class costs £20 and includes all materials, or £70 for all four sessions if paid upfront. Spaces are limited and booking is essential.
To reserve a place, email Hannah at Oriannawellbeing@gmail.com.

Postcards from the Edward Hain Centre

The second event is a one off workshop called Postcards from the Edward Hain Centre. It takes place on Wednesday, 26th November, from 10 am to noon.

Designed by artist Ruth Purdy of Make It Better CIC, the session gathers ideas about what health and wellbeing activities people would like to see at the Centre. Instead of filling out forms, participants can share their thoughts through drawing and writing.

EHC trustee Kit Grindstaff says: “It’s more of a fun family workshop than anything, and is ideal, for example, for grandparents to bring young grandchildren to.”
Kit adds: “From cookery and gardening, to creative groups and mental health care—Show us your ideas! Draw a picture; write a poem or story. We’d love to hear from our community.”

The workshop is free and open to everyone, though sign up is required.
To book, email communityvolunteering@edwardhaincentre.org.uk.

The Centre hopes both sessions will help people explore new ways of supporting their wellbeing as they head towards the end of the year.
