Ready to Get Muddy and Make a Difference? Thousands to Join Cornwall’s Race for Life This Weekend
Over 2,200 participants expected across Stithians and Falmouth
Thousands of people across Cornwall are preparing to come together this weekend in support of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, with two major events set to take place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May 2025.
The inspiring events will see more than 2,200 supporters take on fun and challenging courses to raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research.
Pretty Muddy to Take Over Stithians on Saturday
The action kicks off on Saturday 10th May at Stithians Showground (TR37DP) with the popular Pretty Muddy event.
Over 1,500 participants are expected to tackle the mud-splattered 5k obstacle course, which features everything from mud pits to inflatable slides.
The day will begin from 10am, when children aged six to 12, and at least 1.2m tall, will take part in Pretty Muddy Kids. Expect to see plenty of photo-worthy moments as young racers face space hoppers, slides and muddy challenges.
From 11am onwards, adults and children aged 13 and above will tackle the same muddy course, setting off in groups of around 200 every 15 minutes.
Entries are still open for Pretty Muddy at Stithians. To sign up, visit Pretty Muddy Stithians.
Race for Life Heads to Falmouth on Sunday
On Sunday 11th May, the focus shifts to Gyllyngvase Beach Car Park, Falmouth (TR11 4PA) for the more traditional 5k and 10k Race for Life events.
Around 600 people are expected to take part, showing their support and raising money to help beat cancer.
The day will begin at 10.45am with a mass energiser and aerobics warm-up — a perfect opportunity to capture photos of groups dressed in pink getting ready to race.
At 10.55am, runners for the 10k event will gather at the start line, followed by the 5k event, which sets off at 11am after a countdown.

Supporting Life-Saving Research
Money raised through Race for Life, in partnership with headline sponsor Standard Life, part of Phoenix Group, funds crucial research aimed at preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.
The ultimate goal? A world where everyone lives longer and better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
Join the Fight — Entries Still Open
For those who haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time to get involved. Participants can also register on the day.
