Parents across Cornwall now have access to free courses aimed at improving communication and strengthening relationships. These workshops are designed to help parents, whether they are together or separated, navigate the often challenging dynamics of family life.
Tailored Support for Every Stage of Parenting
The free courses are designed to assist parents at different stages of their parenting journey. Whether you’re a new parent or co-parenting after separation, these sessions offer valuable guidance and tools to help manage stress and foster healthy relationships.
Each workshop is delivered over three weeks, with one two-hour session per week. The sessions are led by trained professionals and provide a supportive space where parents can meet others facing similar challenges.
Courses Available for Parents in Cornwall
Three different courses are currently on offer, each tailored to specific parenting needs:
- Me, You and Baby Too: Aimed at new or expectant parents, this course helps couples understand what their baby picks up even before birth, how stress can be shared, and ways to support one another. Both parents are encouraged to attend, but one parent can participate alone if necessary.
- Arguing Better: This course is open to parents of children of any age and focuses on managing stress, identifying triggers for arguments, and learning how to stop conflicts before they escalate. Again, both parents can attend, but it’s not essential for both to be there.
- Getting it Right for Children: Designed for separating or separated parents, this course teaches skills like staying calm during tough conversations, understanding different perspectives, and preventing discussions from turning into arguments. Parents should attend this course separately.
