New Nature School Launches on Rame Peninsula to Support Children’s Wellbeing
A new community interest company, Rame Peninsula Wild Learners CIC, has officially launched with the aim of inspiring children's wellbeing, confidence and love of learning through outdoor experiences.
Learning in Nature
The school has been founded by David Holmes, Sophia Sachdeva, Kerrie Carr, Rosie Crowford and Helen Parker. All are experienced educators and parents who share a passion for nature-based learning.
Children aged 4 and above are offered the chance to learn in a stunning natural setting. Sessions combine environmental education with movement and play, built on the belief that nature and freedom to explore are vital for healthy development.
Crowdfunder Campaign
The term-time provision is currently running a Crowdfunder campaign to secure essential resources and build a sustainable learning environment. Rewards include foraging walks, mindfulness activities and specialist yoga sessions.
Money raised will go towards outdoor shelters, equipment and nature-friendly facilities to support year-round sessions.
"Huge Impact" on Children
"We've seen first-hand the huge impact that time in nature can have on children's mental health, resilience, and curiosity," said Kerrie, one of the founders. "Rame Peninsula Wild Learners is about giving every child the chance to feel confident, capable, and connected — both to each other and the natural world."
Not-for-Profit
Operating as a not-for-profit CIC, all surplus funds will be reinvested into expanding access for families and community participation.
The founders are also seeking partnerships with local businesses to act as long-term sponsors, helping to keep sessions affordable and accessible.
