Oddfellows Enjoy Summer Gathering at Helston Boating Lake

Sunshine and smiles were the order of the day when members of the Plymouth & Truro District Oddfellows Friendship Groups gathered at Helston Boating Lake for their annual summer get-together.

Over tea, coffee and a few well-earned ice creams, friends enjoyed catching up and soaking in the relaxed holiday atmosphere. For those feeling energetic, a gentle stroll around the lake offered the chance to admire the wide variety of birds that call the beauty spot their home.

The August visit to Helston has become a much-loved tradition for the group. This year proved no exception, with conversation, laughter and companionship filling the day.

Members also received puzzle sheets to enjoy later, along with details of forthcoming activities, including chair yoga sessions and a lively summer social evening.

One member summed it up simply: “It’s always such a lovely day, friendship, fresh air and plenty of fun.”
