The Hoosiers to Headline A Goldstitch Christmas Anniversary Show in Falmouth
A Goldstitch Christmas is marking its fifth anniversary with a special celebration in Falmouth, and organisers are hoping the community will help them pack out the Princess Pavilions on 28th February 2026.
A Fundraiser Born From a Life Changing Diagnosis
A Goldstitch Christmas was created in 2021 after founder David Gold began immunotherapy treatment following the return of bowel cancer. David was first diagnosed in 2018 and had a third of his bowel removed along with a golf ball sized tumour, followed by chemotherapy. He was later given the all clear, but a routine scan in 2021 revealed enlarged lymph nodes and further tests confirmed the cancer had returned.
Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy were not options, so a two year course of immunotherapy began in October 2021. The treatment has kept the cancer at bay and David says he is fit and well today.
While starting treatment, he created A Goldstitch Christmas with the aim of raising a small amount to help the local foodbank provide Christmas dinner packages. Support from friends, family and local businesses meant far more was raised than expected. The team put together 50 Christmas hampers, gift and toy packages for RCHT Treliske, and made donations to St Petrocs and the Hayle foodbank.
Growing Support and £13,000 Raised
Since then, A Goldstitch Christmas has continued to raise money throughout the year, donating each Christmas to:
• The children’s ward at RCHT Treliske
• Children’s Hospice South West
• St Petrocs
• Hayle Foodbank
• The Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Clubs
In total, around £13,000 in cash and donations has been raised since 2021.
Anniversary Shindig with The Hoosiers
To celebrate reaching the five year milestone, A Goldstitch Christmas has arranged an Anniversary Shindig featuring The Hoosiers performing a full live set, with Haytor supporting. All profits from the show will go towards next year’s fundraiser.
Tickets are available through the online store at this link, and details about A Goldstitch Christmas can be found on their website.
Organisers say they are excited for the event and are now focused on selling the tickets to make the fundraiser a success.
