Cormac Collaborates with Forest for Cornwall to Enhance Old Hill’s Greenery with New Trees

In an environmental update, Cormac, in collaboration with Forest for Cornwall, has brought a new lease of life to Old Hill, Falmouth, through the planting of 23 new trees. This initiative is part of the Urban Tree Challenge Fund, aimed at enhancing urban green spaces and increasing biodiversity.

Cormac’s Landscape Team spearheaded the planting effort, receiving valuable support from local volunteers residing in the Old Hill estate, as well as volunteers from Seasalt Cornwall. This community-driven approach not only fostered a sense of local engagement but also contributed significantly to the transformation of the area’s urban landscape.

The addition of these trees comes as a response to the loss of several trees in the area, marking a positive step towards revitalising and enriching the local environment. These newly planted trees are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the urban greenery and contributing to the biodiversity of Old Hill.

Furthermore, Cormac announced the successful acquisition of funds through a Local Authority Tree Fund bid. This success indicates that more trees are set to be planted in Old Hill in the upcoming weeks, further bolstering the environmental rejuvenation efforts.

Special recognition was given to team members Alex Forrester, Paul Knight, Jacqui Owen, and Howard Burns from Cormac’s Landscape team. Their hard work and dedication were instrumental in turning this project into a reality, demonstrating Cormac’s commitment to environmental conservation and community involvement.

This initiative reflects a growing awareness and action towards improving urban green spaces, highlighting the positive impact of collaborative efforts between local authorities, businesses, and community volunteers.
