Published On: 1 February 2025Last Updated: 1 February 2025By

Cornwall Heritage Trust has been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Cornwall Heritage Awards, recognising excellence in innovation, collaboration, and volunteering. Hosted by Cornwall Council, the annual event celebrates the best of Cornwall’s heritage sector, with more than 70 organisations across the county and the Isles of Scilly competing for top honours.

A Trio of Nominations

The Trust is one of only a handful of organisations to make the shortlist, with nominations in three competitive categories:

  • Collaboration Award – for their wellbeing-focused Lowena Project
  • Innovation Award – for the Spend a Penny facility
  • Heritage Hero Award – for their Young Rangers climate action group

The nominations highlight the Trust’s wide-ranging efforts in heritage protection, community wellbeing, and environmental action.

A Special Year for Cornwall Heritage Trust

With the organisation’s 40th anniversary fast approaching, these nominations mark a significant moment. Speaking on their achievement, the Trust said:

“We are lucky to have an incredible heritage sector here in Cornwall, so it’s such an honour to see our charitable work recognised in these highly competitive fields. It’s particularly special with our 40th anniversary just around the corner and a testament to how important our work to protect Cornwall’s at-risk historic places remains today!”

The Cornwall Heritage Awards bring together museums, art galleries, castles, mines, historic properties, industrial heritage sites, archives, and community museums, all competing for recognition in a sector that plays a vital role in Cornwall’s identity.

The winners will be announced soon – will Cornwall Heritage Trust take home the awards?
