86 Emergency Call-Outs Last Month: What Cornwall Air Ambulance Faced in May

Cornwall Air Ambulance has released its latest mission stats for May, revealing the scale of emergencies it responded to across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Trauma and Medical Emergencies Make Up Majority

The team flew a total of 86 missions last month. Of those, 39 were trauma incidents and 32 were medical emergencies, showing the continued demand for fast-response care in both life-threatening injuries and acute health conditions.

14 Cardiac Arrests Attended

The crew also dealt with 14 cardiac arrests, underlining the importance of having access to pre-hospital critical care that can make the difference between life and death.

One Inter-Hospital Transfer

In addition to attending scenes across the region, Cornwall Air Ambulance also carried out one inter-hospital transfer, ensuring a patient could access the care they needed quickly.

The charity thanked supporters for enabling the service to keep flying. “Thank you for helping us to be there for patients in need of pre-hospital emergency care,” they said. “Your support enables us to provide our critical care service to the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”
