Cornwall Air Ambulance Crew’s Busy Weekend: 14 Missions Across Cornwall and Devon
Cornwall Air Ambulance had a whirlwind weekend, responding to 14 emergency incidents across Cornwall and into Devon. The crew’s missions spanned several locations, including Newquay, Jacobstow, Launceston, Bodmin, Redruth, Roche, Grampound Road, and Bigbury-on-Sea.
Multiple Missions and Critical Transfers
The team’s helicopter was a constant presence in the skies, making numerous trips to Derriford Hospital to ensure patients received the specialist care they needed. Among the busiest locations was Perranporth, where the crew was called out twice on Saturday alone. Each mission underscored the vital role of Cornwall Air Ambulance in providing rapid response and critical care across the region.
Collaboration with Local Rescue Teams
In a testament to the collaborative nature of emergency services, the St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team supported the Cornwall Air Ambulance crew at scenes over the weekend. The Coastguard team also shared photos from the incident sites, highlighting the on-ground efforts of the rescue operations.
Support the Lifesaving Work
Cornwall Air Ambulance continues to rely on public support for its operations. Those interested in contributing to their lifesaving missions can support their #HELi2 appeal, which is crucial for maintaining and expanding their service.
