Located on The Platt, the new Cornwall Air Ambulance shop features a contemporary design, reflecting the natural beauty and industrial heritage of the area. The interior incorporates wooden and metal finishes that echo Cornwall’s rich mining history, alongside an artistically engraved wooden backdrop at the till area, depicting the scenic Camel Estuary.

More Than Just a Store

Lisa Pompa, Shop Manager at Wadebridge, emphasized the collaborative effort behind the vibrant setup. “The team has worked really hard to bring the space to life, it’s one our supporters can really experience and enjoy,” she explained. The store introduces various shopping ‘zones’ and special display units that highlight unique items, making shopping there a discovery of pre-loved treasures.

To further enhance the shopping experience, a new donation drop-off zone has been established, making it simpler for donors to contribute items and sign up for Gift Aid. This allows every pound raised from sold items to help the charity even more, with an additional 25p added for every £1 earned through the scheme.

The shops run by Cornwall Air Ambulance are crucial in funding their lifesaving operations, which in 2023 included attending over 20 incidents in the Wadebridge area alone. The charity’s stores across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly collectively bring in over £1 million each year, playing a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding their services.
