Cornwall College St Austell Forms New Partnership with Daikin

Cornwall College St Austell has teamed up with global heating, cooling and refrigeration manufacturer Daikin in a move aimed at strengthening skills development and industry training across the Southwest.

The partnership brings the latest equipment and processes into the College’s programmes and supports learners at all stages as they build expertise in a fast-moving sector. It also follows the Cornwall College Group’s recent Ofsted Outstanding rating.

Supporting learners and local employers

“This partnership gives our learners direct access to technologies that define current industry practice,” said Darren Reski, Curriculum Area Manager for Engineering and Motor Vehicle.

“It strengthens our offer across full time courses, adult training and apprenticeships, helping people progress into engineering careers or develop skills they already use in the workplace.”

Working with Daikin will expand opportunities for individuals and businesses, supporting a workforce that is adapting to new sustainable technologies. It also reinforces the College’s position as a centre for technical excellence, backed by major investment in campus redevelopment.

“This state-of-the-art facility will be crucial to the development of apprentices in Cornwall enabling them to have the skills and knowledge to design, install and maintain Daikin ASHP.

“The facility will be a huge asset to Cornwall offering existing local Heating and Electrical contractors the opportunity to upskill and train on future new green technology.”

The collaboration highlights a shared focus on sustainability, innovation and growth, and strengthens the region’s ability to meet future demand in the sector.
