Could This New Team Change How Cornwall Trains Its Future Workforce?
The Cornwall College Group has brought together a new Business Partnership and Growth Team as part of its 1000 Futures campaign to create 1,000 new apprenticeship opportunities across Devon and Cornwall.
A Focus on Employer Support and Skills Growth
The Group, rated Ofsted Outstanding for apprenticeships and training, says the team will support employers while helping more people access high quality training.
The team is led by Hailey Collins, Business Partnership and Growth Manager. It brings together a group of experienced Business Partnership Advisors who will work with employers to identify workforce development needs and promote apprenticeship standards, Skills Bootcamps and adult funded training.
Working alongside Curriculum Teams and Apprenticeship Advisors, the Business Partnership Advisors will act as the main point of contact for employers, offering what the Group describes as flexible and responsive support.
Hailey said: “I’m thrilled to be leading such a passionate and knowledgeable team. Together, we’re committed to building strong, lasting partnerships with employers understanding their needs, supporting their growth, and ensuring that our training offer delivers real impact. It’s an exciting time to be part of the CCG as we continue to expand opportunities for both businesses and learners.”
Supporting the 1000 Futures Campaign
Head of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement Teresa Copping said the structure will help drive apprenticeship growth while making it easier for employers to access skills funding.
Teresa said: “This new structure ensures we’re not only supporting apprenticeship growth through 1000 Futures but also helping employers access the full range of skills funding available. The team’s expertise, enthusiasm and local knowledge make them perfectly placed to provide advice, guidance and training solutions that have a real and lasting impact.”
Covering Key Sectors Across Cornwall and Devon
The team supports employers across Cornwall College, Bicton College, Duchy College and Falmouth Marine School. Their work covers sectors including engineering, construction, business and professional services, hair and beauty, health and social care, hospitality and land based industries.
The Group says the formation of this team strengthens its position as a leading provider of apprenticeships and skills training across Devon and Cornwall.
