Cornwall Council Christmas Tree Recycling Arrangements

Published On: 30 December 2025Last Updated: 30 December 2025By

If you have a garden waste collection subscription, your Christmas tree can be recycled once the festive season is over, according to Cornwall Council.

Garden waste collections

Residents with a garden waste collection subscription can leave their real Christmas tree out for recycling on their usual garden waste collection day. The tree should be placed next to the bin or bag that is normally used for garden waste.

Recycling centre options

Real Christmas trees can also be taken to a local Household Waste and Recycling Centre.

If you are planning to visit an HWRC in Newquay, Saltash, St Erth, Bude, Launceston, St Austell or Bodmin (Lanivet), you will need to book in advance before turning up.

The council has not provided any further details beyond this guidance.
